About the tour

General info

Hiking on mountain Mosor begins and ends in a little place called Sitno Gornje. The participants climb about 300 meters above sea level to the mountain lodge on Mosor. The lodge is located 868 meters above sea level and it provides a wonderful view of all the Dalmatian islands and the city of Split. Lunch in the lodge is organized by agreement. We are able to organize several hiking tours through Mosor for the physically fit and more demanding participants.

Tour summary

Distance from start to finish: There are a few different routes that vary from easy to advanced ones.
Altitude distance from start to finish: From 200 to 900 meters.
Staff: All our professional guides are registered at Croatian mountain rescue service. Staff members speak Croatian and English.
Fitness Level: A minimum level of fitness is required.
Previous experience: Not necessary.
Age: Minimum age is 8 years.
Number of people per day: Minimum of 2 and a Maximum of 50.
Availability: Every day during whole year. This trip runs if there are 2 or more people. E-mail us regarding dates and tell us number of people in your group. We will inform you about the dates available.
Starts from: Village Sitno Gornje.
Hiking tour departure times: Between 10 and 11 AM (or as agreed for each group).
Duration of the tour: 3.30 – 4.30h (duration depends on the route chosen).

Additional info

Special Conditions: The operator has the right to cancel tours, without notice at their discretion depending on the weather or river conditions. All safety instructions from Adventure Dalmatia’s staff must be adhered to.
Duration of the transfer: 30 min – one-way (20 km from Split)

Do I need prior hiking experience? Do I need to be in good shape?

Prior experience is not necessary. Your general health should be good and you should be able to walk for at least 4h.

What is the difficulty of the routes?

All hiking tours from our web page have several route options. Depending on your fitness level, we will choose the appropriate one. You should count on 4h of walking, though.

How many miles/km do we walk?

It depends on the route chosen. Depending on your fitness level, your guide will choose the appropriate route.

What should I take with me?

You should take plenty of water, dress in layers, sunscreen, hat, sunglasses, comfortable shoes.

When is the best time of the year for a hiking tour?

We highly suggest not doing this tour during summer as temperatures are really high. The best period is from October until May.

How and when should I make a reservation?

You can make a reservation online or by phone. Start on our Reservations page and fill out the form. Our staff will respond as soon as possible.
Certain days during the season sell out quickly, so we advise you to contact our office to check availability. Although advance bookings are required to participate in the trip, last minute bookings are welcome a day or two before the trip.

Does the price include insurance?

Pursuant to the Law on the Provision of Services in Tourism, Article 56, paragraph 3, Adventure Dalmatia is responsible for insuring clients during excursions.
