About the tour

General info

This trip starts from the old mill on Pantana near Trogir .
During the trip, we paddle the river along the canals from the reed river Pantana to the sandy lagoon and further by sea towards the city of Trogir.
The city of Trogir is surrounded by the sea on all sides, which allows us to tour it by kayak.
In summer, on the way back to Pantana, we can stop and have a coffee on the beach and relax with a short swim.
There is also a restaurant in the old mill, so you can have lunch or a drink (not included in the price).

Tour summary

Distance from start to finish: 6 km
Sea temperature: Between 19 ° C and 27 ° C (depending on the season).
Rock Jumping: You can jump into the sea in places approved by your guide.
Equipment and staff: All equipment used is registered in the European Union. All users must wear a safety vest and helmet for the entire duration of their stay at sea. All our professional guides are local know the area well and have experience on such excursions.
All guides are registered with the Croatian Mountain Rescue Service and some of them with the Irish Canoeists’ Association (ICU).
The staff speaks Croatian and English.
Physical fitness level: A minimum level of physical fitness is required.
Previous experience: Not required.
Age: Minimum age is 8 years.
Availability: Every day from 15 May to 1 October.
A trip is organized if there are two or more people. Contact us by email to confirm the date and indicate the number of people in your group. We also need to know if you need transportation or not.
We will then inform you of the available dates.
Departure: Trogir
Departure time: Between 9.00 and 10.00 (or by arrangement for each group).
Excursion duration: 2.30 to 3 hours.

Additional info

Special Conditions: The operator has the right to cancel tours, without notice at their discretion depending on the weather or river conditions. All safety instructions from Adventure Dalmatia’s staff must be adhered to.
Duration of transport: 30 min – one way (25 km from Split )

Do I need experience to join a kayaking adventure?

No experience is necessary. Most of our guests have never been in a sea kayak before. Anyone in average physical condition may join a kayak tour. We will show you proper sea kayaking technique and water safety before leaving the beach. And your expert guides will be with you throughout the adventure to give you pointers and improve your skills.

How stable are the kayaks and do they ever flip?

DAG tandem kayaks we use comfortably hold two paddlers and are extremely stable. Its actually quite difficult to flip a tandem sit on top kayak over.

Will I get wet during the kayak tour?

Yes, you will. We use double sit-on-top kayaks so you will get wet.

Do I need to be in shape for the kayaking trip?

Our sea kayaking trips are rated “moderate” for overall physical difficulty. Most of time we will be moving at an easy pace. If you enjoy hiking, cycling, or swimming, then you are already in shape for sea kayaking.

Are there showers and restrooms available on the kayak tours?

There are no shower facilities during/after the tour.

What should I take with me?

Swimming suit, towel, sunscreen, hat, plenty of water, dry clothes to change after the tour.

What sea kayaking equipment do you use?

We use double sit-on-top DAG kayaks, DAG Searun paddles, DAG rapid life-jackets.
